"Our survey shows that men who fill the prescription for Viagra will experience an increase in sexual desire and arousal with less effort," said Wolfe, who was not named in the study. "We also found that men who buy Viagra will experience a decrease in cravings for the drug over time."
Viagra, which is available in 25 mg and 100 mg pills, is the prescription drug for impotence, which is the most common cause of erectile dysfunction.
Dr. Robert J. Ingle, head of the pharmaceutical industry at Pfizer, said he expects the number of men buying Viagra will increase "particularly early in the year."
